Privacy
Your voice is
not the product.
mispronounced needs a Google account so you can return to your own reports. It uses two short voice recordings to create an accent analysis. The verdict is based on the sound of those recordings—not your name, email address, or the meaning of the passage you read. An accent result is a playful, evidence-led estimate, not a statement of identity, nationality, or origin.
What stays private
Your email address, account details, recordings, and full report are private to your account. They are not placed on the public Atlas and are not included in ordinary search results.
What sharing means
A result can be shared through an unlisted link. That link shows a first name and the verdict, but never your email address or audio. Treat an unlisted link like any link: send it only to people you want to see the result.
Deleting a take
You can delete any take from your results. Its audio is erased from our storage for good, and the report comes off your account and its link stops working. We keep the written analysis—the verdict, the scores and the listener’s notes, with the day and country it came from—to check and improve how well the listener hears. That copy is kept apart from your account, with no name, email address, audio, link or payment details attached, and it is never shown publicly. If you delete a report you haven’t paid for, we also note on your account that your free try is used, so your next take is paid for before we analyse it.
Email from us
We email your result when it's ready. If a report stays sealed for a few days, we send one reminder about it, written with the help of an AI model from that report's own findings. Every reminder has an unsubscribe link, and we never sell or share your address.
A rough sense of where
Each recording stores the country your browser's own clock setting implies, so the person running this site can see roughly which parts of the world it reached. No IP address is stored, nothing is sent to an outside location service, and this never reaches the accent analysis—the verdict still comes only from the sound.
Anonymous traffic
Approved page labels send first-party traffic measurements: pageviews, referral source, coarse browser context, and passive timing. When a known search or AI crawler (Googlebot, GPTBot, ClaudeBot and the like) reads one of those pages, the server reports the page label and the crawler's family. Account identity, voice, report contents, payments, form contents, and email activity are not sent.
How people find us
We keep campaign tags and the referring website's domain in your browser session for up to 30 days, and retain a copy with a recording and its paid unlock so we can understand which ads bring customers. We do not keep the referring page's full address or advertising click IDs. This first-party attribution stays inside mispronounced and never reaches the accent analysis. Clearing the session or switching browsers can lose it.
Advertising measurement
Pages load the Google Ads tag for advertising measurement, so Google may receive page-visit and browser information under its own policies. On a report page it gets the route with the private link masked and a plain page title. When you open a finished report or unlock one, the tag records that it happened, with an internal reference number and, for an unlock, the price. Voice and audio, report contents, account details, email addresses, payment details, and form contents are not sent through this tag.
The anonymous Atlas
The Atlas aggregates regions and counts. It is designed not to expose names, email addresses, recordings, or a personal voice profile. It is a view of the collection, not a directory of people.
Who runs this site
mispronounced is built and operated by Codewrights, an independent software studio. When this policy says “we” or “the person running this site,” that is who it means.
Questions about a particular report belong with that report's feedback controls after sign-in. For a plain-language explanation of the listening process, visit the About & FAQ.
